Cemex Czech Republic has resubmitted a revised environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the continuation of limestone mining at the Prachovice quarry. The original mining area will remain unchanged, but the annual amount of extracted limestone is to increase from the current 1.2Mta to 1.7Mta, according to Newton Business News.

Buzzi SpA reported cement volumes declining across much of western Europe in the 1H23, while the USA saw volumes rise significantly. Consolidated net sales for Buzzi Unicem in the 1Q23 reached EUR955.9m, a rise of 19.5 per cent compared to EUR8000.1m the 1Q22. Buzzi Unicem reports consolidated net sales at EUR3996m in FY22, up 16 per cent from EUR3446m in FY2021, also on LfL basis a rise of 9.6 per cent.
